Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Makora Industries collects when you use makorainc.com, Makora City and the Makora Central Bank, and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Account: your email address, a protected (hashed) version of your password, your alias, whether you said you are 18 or older, and when you joined. If you sign in with Google we receive your Google account ID and email address. We do not receive your Google password.
• Wallet: a record of every MKT you earn and spend, with dates, so your balance and receipts are correct.
• Security: sign-in attempts (successful or not) so we can stop password guessing, and a sign-in token stored in your browser.
• Live broadcasts: if you send a command in our YouTube live chat, we use it to run the city during that broadcast only. Your name is not saved, and vote tallies are kept without names. Ordinary chat messages are not kept.

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment card details. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.

How we use it

To run your account and wallet, keep the city fair and secure, answer your questions, and understand how the city is used in total (for example, how many members joined). Other members only ever see your alias.

Who we share it with

Only services we need to run the city: Cloudflare (which delivers the website), Google (if you choose to sign in with Google), and, if purchases are ever turned on, a payment provider. We may also share information if the law requires it.

Cookies and storage

We use a small number of necessary cookies and browser storage items to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

Account information is kept while your account is open. Wallet records are kept as an accounting record even after an account closes, without your email once it is no longer needed. Sign-in attempt records are kept for a short time.

Children

The city is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it. Members aged 13 to 17 cannot make purchases. Our Makora Kids videos are published separately and do not collect personal information.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your account information, or to close your account, by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR, and we will honor them.

Security

Passwords are stored as protected hashes, the website uses encrypted connections, and access to our administration tools is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a password you do not use anywhere else.

Changes

If we change this policy in an important way, we will say so in the city before the change takes effect.
